Sheri brings both the SONIC and the HONEY with her vocals. Her emotions show through her vocals. Besides being the Front Woman of this band, she also plays Sax and Flute. Sheri’s first instrument was Alto Sax, when she was just 13 years old. Sheri also started singing around the same time and joined the youth choir at her church, as well as the school choir and any ensembles she could find. Sheri took piano lessons, but her voice has always been her favorite instrument. Sheri’s summers during high school where spent traveling Europe, performing with International Choirs. Sheri has taught private voice lessons for over 20 years. Tutored and mentored several young students and bands, and continues to do so every chance she gets. After singing with a few different bands, and getting tired of them not always wanting to learn a song she suggested, she decided to try ukulele. Sheri wanted to be able to accompany herself and learn the songs she wanted, whether the band wanted to learn them or not. Sheri learned it easier than she expected and was soon pushed by her teacher, to learn the guitar. Sheri’s guitar teacher also taught her how to improvise solos on the Saxophone. Sheri has recently switched to Tenor Sax and now plays the Flute with Sonic Honey as well. Also, with learning the guitar, Sheri started song writing. She has a few locally, popular blues tunes now published with ASCAP, “Lil Boy Blues” and “Psycho Sally.” Thanks to her new guitar player and producer/publisher Nic Cocco, she has many new songs in the works!
